Matter of Opinion

It's been almost 2 years since I sat down and typed out my first post on this the official World of Stu website and during that time I have reviewed 47 movies and 2 television shows, offering my opinion on everything from The Martian to Sausage Party and everything in between.

With this in mind I thought I'd take a look back at the scores I've handed out and see if they still hold true. So here in ascending order are the titles I've reviewed along with my initial score followed by the score I would give them now -

Knock Knock 0 (0)

Vacation 0 (0)

Ghostbusters 0 (0)

Sausage Party 0 (0)

Dawn of Justice 1 (3)

Independence Day Resurgence 2 (2)

Gods of Egypt 3 (2)

Battlefield Earth 4 (2)

San Andreas 5 (5)

It Follows 5 (5)

The 5th Wave 5 (5)

Hail Caeser 5 (5)

The Visit 5 (5)

The Gift 6 (5)

The Martian 6 (6)

Balboa 6 (6)

10 Cloverfield Lane 6 (6.5)

John Wick 6 (6)

Petes Dragon 6 (6)

31 6 (5.5)

Victor Frankenstein 6 (6)

La La Land 6.5 (6)

The Handmaiden 6.5 (6.5)

Hardcore Henry 6.5 (7.5)

The Good Dinosaur 7 (7)

The Hateful Eight 7 (7)

Force Awakens 7 (7)

Psychomania 7 (7)

Patriots Day 7 (6.5)

Arrival 7 (6.5)

Dr Strange 7.5 (7)

Krampus 7.5 (7.5)

Xmen Apocalypse 7.5 (7.5)

True Story 8 (8)

The Revenant 8 (8) (7.5)

Split 8 (8)

Legend 8.5 (8.5)

Goosebumps 8.5 (8)

Eddie the Eagle 8.5 (8.5)

Preacher 8.5 (9)

Lego Batman 8.5 (8.5)

Mars Attacks 9 (9)

Shin Godzilla 9 (9.5)

Ash vs Evil Dead 9.5 (9.5)

Deadpool 9.5 (9.5)

Days of Future Past 9.5 (9.5)

Civil War 9.5 (9)

So as you can see I pretty much stick to my initial thoughts, the four films that I scored 0 out of 10 when i first saw them are still worthy of the same levels of disdain whilst at the other end of the scale Civil War drops half a point to 9 out of 10 whilst Shin Godzilla climbs half a point to become one of only four films to have scored 9.5 out of 10.

I did toy with marking Deadpool and Days of Future Past up to a perfect 10 but that mystical score still remains elusive. Will I get to see a 10 out of 10 film this year? I guess only time will tell.
